Grigory Frolov builds Pixel Sunshine Coast — the isometric map that draws every building across Sunshine Coast Regional Council and Noosa Shire and places every business inside the building it occupies. The map is rendered from open data, starting with OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors), by a hand-written canvas engine — no map-tile services involved.

He writes here about the Sunshine Coast the way the map sees it: suburb by suburb, building by building — what the open data shows, where it comes from, and what it can and cannot tell you.
